I went out today to take some winter landscapes again. The sun was low on the horizon and made for some interesting shadow effects.

Winter hike and some reference photos

I decided to get out and record some potential landscapes fpr pastel work, Some samples below. I highly recommend GIMP over Photoshop for a number of reason not the least that its free to use.
